Karate (learning since I was 4).
What is your favourite sport and why do you love it?
Karate because it’s enjoyable and I learn how to do self defence, have discipline and I also LOVE competing.
How did you become involved in your sport?
My mum and dad enrolled me.
How often do you have to train and what does a typical training session involve?
I train 3-4 times per week I do a mixture of Kata ( solo structured movement ) and Kumite (sparing with an opponent). We do a mixture of both but Kumite is my favourite.
What is the hardest part about playing your chosen sport?
At the moment nothing… I’m just loving it and love the challenges that every class brings.
Describe any challenges you’ve had to overcome to develop your skills in your chosen sport.
When I had to give up karate for 7 months this year due to illness. That was really challenging for me as I love my sport and my routine so much. But I’m back 3 months now and loving it.
Do you have goals you are training to achieve in your chosen sport?
I’m so excited to work hard and compete next year. I’m going to work really hard over the next few years to achieve my black belt and when I’m older I’ll be able to help out in my dojo teaching kids.
Who inspires you?
My mum and dad because they always give me lots of encouragement and are always there supporting my karate journey.
What do you want to be when you’re older?
I really want to be a vet because I love all animals. It would be my dream job to be around animals every day
